1095 Blade Steel
Jeff Morgan works exclusively in 1095, a high-carbon steel known for its excellent hardness and edge retention, thanks to its approximately 0.95% carbon content. It achieves a significant Rockwell hardness of around 55-58 HRC, providing a sharp, durable edge suitable for heavy-duty tasks. 1095 is also prized for its toughness, allowing it to withstand impact and stress without chipping. Primarily used in fixed-blade knives, hunting knives, survival knives, and traditional weapons, 1095 steel offers a good balance of performance and affordability, making it a popular choice among knife makers and enthusiasts. Due to 1095 being a high-carbon steel, we recommend you dry it off completely after use and coat the blade with a thin application of a penetrating-style oil to help stave off corrosion.

Tigerwood
Tigerwood is an exotic hardwood prized for its striking appearance, featuring a reddish-brown base with dark, wavy stripes resembling a tiger’s fur. It is highly durable, resistant to wear, and often used in flooring, furniture, and decorative woodwork due to its strength and visual appeal. Tigerwood is also valued for its natural resistance to moisture, insects, and decay.

Quinn Knives' take:
As Jeff tells it, he was on a family trip at the famous Alamo Museum and saw a knife on display. He sketched it on a random piece of paper and came home and started making them. Hence "Alamo Camp Knife". In practice this is a great blade shape for all around outdoor duties, with a neat piece of history behind it.
