154CM Stainless Steel (HRC 58-61)
154CM is a high-quality stainless steel known for its excellent balance of hardness, toughness, and corrosion resistance. It is an upgraded version of 440C steel, enriched with molybdenum to enhance its wear resistance and edge retention, making it popular in knife blades and other cutting tools. The steel's ability to hold a sharp edge while being relatively easy to sharpen makes it a favorite among knife makers and users seeking a reliable, all-purpose blade material.
6AL4V Titanium
Also known as Grade 5 titanium, 6AL4V titanium is an alloy composed of 90% titanium, 6% aluminum, and 4% vanadium, offering an excellent balance of strength, lightweight, and corrosion resistance. It is widely used in aerospace, medical devices, and high-performance sporting equipment due to its high tensile strength and ability to withstand extreme temperatures. The alloy's unique properties make it a popular choice for demanding applications where weight reduction and durability are crucial.
Micarta
A composite material made from layers of fabric, paper, or other fibers impregnated with resin and then pressed under heat to form a dense, durable laminate. Known for its toughness and lightweight properties, it is commonly used in knife handles, tool grips, and industrial applications where a strong yet non-slip surface is needed. The material's textured surface and natural appearance make it popular for custom knife makers and craftspeople seeking both functionality and aesthetic appeal.
